Manchester United third signing ‘confirmed’ amid surprise Adrien Rabiot transfer boost

Manchester United Secure Chido Obi-Martin

Manchester United have successfully signed Chido Obi-Martin after the young striker chose the club over higher bids from Germany. Obi-Martin, who recently left Arsenal, had been a target for United as reported by the Manchester Evening News earlier this month. The forward visited Carrington prior to finalizing his decision, following in the footsteps of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro, who also joined the club this summer.

Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the move, noting that Obi-Martin turned down more lucrative offers to join United. Despite receiving higher bids, his decision was not financially motivated. Sky Sports added that while Arsenal offered him a contract, doubts about his pathway to the first team and the club’s overall project led Obi-Martin to seek opportunities elsewhere. He believed his career would flourish better at Manchester United.

Adrien Rabiot’s Potential Move to United

In other news, Manchester United have received a significant boost in their pursuit of free agent Adrien Rabiot. Real Madrid, initially considered a strong contender for Rabiot’s signature, has reportedly pulled out of the race, according to Football 365. This development leaves United in a favorable position to sign the France international, who left Juventus after his contract expired last month.

Rabiot, after a five-year stint with the Italian giants, is ready for a new challenge. United’s interest in Rabiot is not new; they were close to signing him in 2020 and again in 2022. The latter attempt fell through due to excessive wage demands, leading then-manager Erik ten Hag to opt for Casemiro instead.

Despite these past setbacks, United might have an edge this time around. Rabiot’s mother and agent, Veronique Rabiot, confirmed the positive relationship with Manchester United, stating, “We are on excellent terms with Manchester United. United wanted to meet me to illustrate their interest in Adrien, but we never talked about money in detail because he quickly decided to stay in Turin [back in 2023].”

Looking Ahead

As Manchester United prepare for the upcoming season, the acquisition of Chido Obi-Martin adds a promising young talent to their squad. With the potential addition of experienced midfielder Adrien Rabiot, United aims to strengthen their roster further. Fans eagerly await official announcements and hope these strategic moves will enhance the team’s performance in the Premier League.
